Autistic boy’s mom was killed by a male “friend” who she trusted and didn’t fear because she felt comfortable in his company shortly after raising her voice about brutality against Black women

A woman who had just recently turned 30 years old was found murdered in the garage of her house, where she lived with her mother, aunt, and her six-year-old son with autism, in an incident that happened earlier this month. As the investigation progressed, it was revealed that the woman, identified by authorities as Sierra, was brutally killed by a man who she referred to as a friend and someone who she trusted a lot. The suspect in the case, identified as Lawrence, 63, was arrested just two days after Seirra’s body was found.

Because Sierra had given an interview to a local TV station just before the fatal incident, this case has received a lot of national attention. The victim was speaking about the brutality of Black women, as she was a carjacking victim herself just days before that interview. She was able to get away and wanted to encourage other Black women to fight against violence. She was explaining how hard she was working and literally fighting to support her family. She was further saying that she was not going to let the carjacker take anything away from her.

But before the interview even aired, Sierra was attacked a second time—this time stra**led to death outside her home. At the time when the incident took place, her family was inside their Il. home, and Sierra’s mother was the one who actually found her body and called 911. Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene, and the medical examiner listed Jamison’s cause of death as stra**ulation.

Two days after Sierra’s death, police arrested the main suspect in the case. According to court documents, he was identified as 63-year-old Lawrence. The man who is accused of killing Sierra is someone she considered to be her friend. Sierra’s mother later said that she trusted this man a lot and had no reason to fear him since she felt comfortable in his company. The same evening when Lawrence was arrested, Sierra’s family held a balloon release and vigil in the neighborhood where they live.

The victim’s aunt told CBS News that the family can celebrate with a little bit of peace despite losing her niece. She added that the family was honoring Sierra but also celebrating a small victory because the police managed to quickly identify and arrest the suspect.

The suspect was arrested and charged with murder. It was not revealed if he had entered a guilty plea. This is a developing story. We will update the story once more details are released.
