Roanoke grapples with another homicide: Police call for public assistance in ongoing investigation
Roanoke, Virginia – The Roanoke Police Department is in the process of investigating a recent homicide which took placce in the Northwest region of Roanoke.
In the early hours of Tuesday, around 1 a.m., the police were notified of an incident involving a male victim who was reportedly shot on Westside Boulevard, specifically within the vicinity of the 400 block.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered the individual lying near a vehicle, evidently suffering from severe injuries. The officers promptly commenced first aid measures, maintaining these efforts until the arrival of personnel from Roanoke Fire-EMS.
Subsequent to these events, the injured man was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the man succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the relevant authorities.
This unfortunate incident marks the 21st homicide in Roanoke in the current year alone.
