Weekend search in Campbell County resulted in Amherst County man arrest, faces drug charges, police

AMHERST COUNTY, Virginia – A man from Amherst County was arrested in Campbell County on a drug charge.

Cody Wayne Lipscomb is charged with having a Schedule I or II substance with the intent to sell it.

On Friday, February 17, Amherst County deputies started watching the area around Bubba Lane after people said they thought drugs were being sold there. When deputies found more than 20 grams of methamphetamine, they put Lipscomb under arrest and started looking for him.

Lipscomb was found in a Campbell County home on February 21, and he was arrested with the help of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff EW Viar, Jr. wants people in Amherst County to call the Drug Hotline at (434)-946-7585 if they see something illegal.
