Department of Homeland Security’s disinformation board officially disbanded

The disinformation board within the Department of Homeland Security has been officially disbanded.

The initial purpose of the board was to coordinate the department’s efforts to fight the spread of false information inside the United States.

However, it was placed on hold in May due to strong opposition from Republicans.

At that time, Russian disinformation expert Nina Jankowicz, who had been on the board for some time, decided to step down since the board’s future was uncertain.

Republican lawmakers criticized her for being biased due to her use of Hunter Biden’s laptop and tweets, as well as the discredited Steele dossier.

Despite the fact that the board no longer exists, officials from the Department of Homeland Security have said that they would keep fighting against disinformation that threatens the security of the United States.
