It’s all about education and horsemanship: Chatham Hall, who has around 20 high schoolers in the program, was named a Recognized Riding Academy

CHATHAM, Virginia – The United States Hunter Jumper Association recently named Chatham Hall a Recognized Riding Academy.

The award goes to programs that show good horsemanship and sportsmanship, work to keep people safe, and offer beginner lessons in hunter and jumper riding.

It also lets them choose a school horse of the year, which will bring attention to the horses on a national level.

About 20 high school girls are in their riding program right now.

“Education and horsemanship are big parts of both our program at Chatham Hall and the program at the Recognized Riding Academy,” said Ally Doyon, the Director of Riding at Chatham Hall. “Working with horses and being in the sport isn’t just about riding well; it’s also about taking good care of your horses.”

They will have a Summer Riding Camp in June for girls ages 10 to 16. Visit Chatham Hall’s website to register.
