More than two dozen fire personnel responded and got control of a structure fire in Lynchburg Monday. One LFD responder injured

LYNCHBURG, Virginia – A fire in a building in Lynchburg on Monday hurt a firefighter, according to the Lynchburg Fire Department.

At 12:35 p.m., firefighters were called to 1 Millrace Drive in the Millrace Industrial Park off Graves Mill Road to put out a fire in a building.

Masterbrand Cabinets is located in the building.

Officials said that maintenance workers were working on the building when a fire broke out in the insulation between the interior and exterior walls on the back side of the building.

More than two dozen firefighters showed up, and the fire was put out in about an hour. Firefighters said they had to cut holes in the metal sides of the building to get water and foam to the insulation that was on fire.

Fire crews said there wasn’t much damage to the building.

LFD said that one firefighter hurt their hand and was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where they should be treated and sent home.
