Eastbound Dulles Toll Road travelers advised on overnight ramp closure and detours
Fairfax, Virginia – Drivers heading from the eastbound Dulles Toll Road to southbound 495 Express Lanes will need to follow a detour during overnight closures on Friday, November 15, and Monday, November 18. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced that the exit ramp will close from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. both nights as crews work to reinstall guardrails and adjust temporary barriers. The closures are part of ongoing safety and maintenance efforts.
During the closure, motorists will be directed to follow a detour:
- Continue east on Dulles Toll Road to Exit 18A.
- Stay right to enter southbound I-495 general-purpose lanes.
- Take Exit 47B for eastbound Route 7.
- At the traffic light, turn right to merge onto southbound 495 Express Lanes.
VDOT cautions that adverse weather or other unforeseen conditions could lead to rescheduling or extended work times. Drivers passing through the area should be prepared for potential delays, and VDOT urges caution to ensure everyone’s safety during the closure.
