CHICAGO — United Airlines says that a flight that was supposed to leave Chicago and go to Miami on Friday had to turn around and go back to Chicago O’Hare International Airport because it hit a bird soon after taking off.
After “suffering a bird strike soon after take-off,” the airline said in a statement that Flight 1930 successfully landed back at O’Hare Airport without incident. United Airlines says that no one was hurt on the Boeing 737-900 plane.
Later, the passengers boarded a different plane that was scheduled to take off from O’Hare Airport early Friday afternoon on route to Miami International Airport.
