Man arrested after sexually assaulting a woman, threatening with a knife at her Reston home

A man who is suspected to be responsible for sexually assaulting a woman while she was at her house over the weekend has been taken into custody, according to the police in Fairfax County,

The individual allegedly broke into the victim’s apartment on Sunday shortly before midnight in the 2200 block of Lovedale Lane, which is located just off South Lakes Drive in Reston.

According to the authorities, when she woke up, the masked man was inside her home. Then, in the minutes leading up to the assault, he brandished what seemed to be a knife and threatened her.

She is now expected to make a full recovery after receiving medical attention for her injuries.

Officials have said that they want to “hold him accountable for this heinous crime” as detectives continue to gather evidence.
