More rain to dodge this weekend, along with seasonable warmth and humidity

ROANOKE, Va. – We dealt with severe weather and flooding with storms on Friday and it appears more rain will be in the forecast to get the weekend started.

We want you to know that the highest coverage of showers and storms will be west of the Blue Ridge Parkway. That means the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley and Highlands will be our wettest zones.

It won’t rain all day, but the afternoon could be pretty wet. That’s when we expect the highest rain chances.

In addition to today’s rain chances, we’ll be tracking seasonable warmth and humidity. It looks like many of you will feel temperatures in the 80s by afternoon.

Sunday’s forecast is looking similar to today’s: seasonable warmth and humidity, along with chances for rain.

I do believe we will see fewer storms tomorrow compared to today. It’s a scattered storm chance west of the Blue Ridge and an isolated chance east.

Here’s what temperatures, clouds and radar could look like at 4 p.m. tomorrow.

We don’t see any big changes in the forecast as we head into the new work week. It appears to be a pretty persistent pattern.

Look for warmth, humidity and daily storm chances.

Following a front, look for drier weather next weekend. It also could be slightly cooler and less humid, too.
