Roanoke hospitals listed among best in state

Roanoke, Virginia – Several healthcare institutions in the Roanoke region have received commendable rankings among Virginia’s finest by the esteemed US News & World Report.

The hospitals were appraised based on a range of factors. The report explicitly states, “U.S. News generates hospital rankings by evaluating data on nearly 5,000 hospitals. To be nationally ranked in a specialty, a hospital must excel in caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients.”

Topping the list in the Roanoke region is Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, achieving an impressive fourth place overall in the state. The report commends it for being “high performing in 2 specialties and 16 procedures/conditions.”

Further down the list, yet notable nonetheless, is Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, occupying the twelfth position in the state rankings. It has been recognized in the report as being “high performing in 9 procedures/conditions.”
