House and Senate budget negotiators are currently considering funding proposals for Catawba Hospital
House and Senate budget negotiators are currently looking at funding plans for Catawba Hospital, which would be turned into a state-of-the-art facility for treating people with mental illness and drug abuse. This could be a big deal for our area and a big step toward getting better for many people in our area who have these disorders.
Please look at the sample text below to get in touch with budget conferees about this important project today.

Dear Budget Conferencers,
As a business leader in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region and an active member of our community, I want to say that I strongly support House Bill 2192 and the funding that goes with it. These are part of the effort to turn Catawba Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility for treating substance abuse and mental health.
People from all walks of life have been hurt by the opioid epidemic, and it’s important to do something about it. This epidemic has affected a lot of people. In fact, many of us know someone who has been hurt by the abuse and spread of opiates, either directly or indirectly.
The Catawba Hospital needs to be fixed up as a first step toward helping the growing number of people with substance abuse and mental health problems get better and live happy, productive lives. This is a one-of-a-kind chance for our area to be at the forefront of restoring society, and I am sure that this investment will be very good for the Commonwealth and its people.
I kindly ask that you back all of the plans to fund this proposal. Thank you for taking this into account.
Sincerely,
