City of Roanoke invites public input on 9th Street SE improvements

Roanoke, Virginia – The City of Roanoke has scheduled a meeting regarding plans for streetscape improvements for 9th Street SE.

This session will be held on Tuesday, August 29, between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. at the Belmont Public Library. Stakeholders, including local business proprietors, property owners, and other concerned parties, are invited to deliberate on the proposed modifications.

Proposals for the stretch between Jamison Ave and Highland Ave encompass elements such as public art installations, bus shelters, measures for pedestrian safety, streamlined commercial access, and other beneficial amenities. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to examine and discuss the preliminary designs crafted for 9th Street SE.

This initiative is rooted in the city’s commitment to fostering collaboration with its residents. The gathering serves as a platform for individuals to express their perspectives, seek clarifications, and contribute suggestions. The overarching goal is to align the eventual enhancement plans with the aspirations and requirements of the Roanoke community.
