City of Roanoke set to welcome renowned hip-hop artists to its stage

Roanoke, Virginia – Ja Rule and Ashanti are scheduled to perform at Elmwood Park on Sept. 24, marking a distinctive feature in Roanoke’s Vinyl Vault concert series.

These artists, celebrated for chart-topping tracks such as “Mesmerize,” “What’s Luv?” and “Always on Time,” first garnered attention in the late 1990s and continued their ascent into the early 2000s.

Both have had notable individual careers. Ja Rule’s contributions to music have earned him nominations for two American Music Awards and four Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, Ashanti has been honored with eight Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and a Grammy Award.

Their foray into film is also noteworthy. Ashanti’s cinematic endeavors include roles in “The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz,” “John Tucker Must Die,” and the acclaimed “Coach Carter.” Ja Rule has appeared in prominent films such as “The Fast & The Furious” and “Turn It Up.”

Tickets for this anticipated event are priced at $45 if purchased in advance, with a slight increase to $50 on the day of the performance. Additionally, VIP tables are available for $800.
