Traffic advisory for Bradshaw Road due to scheduled night paving activities

Salem, Virginia – Nighttime paving is set to begin on a segment of Bradshaw Road starting Wednesday, August 21st. This work will affect the stretch between Route 311 and Watkin’s Grocery at the intersection with Old Catawba Road.

The paving will occur over four nights: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Each night, the paving activities will start at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. It’s important to note that this schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions, particularly if it rains.

Following the completion of the nighttime paving, the focus will shift to daytime operations. During the day, additional paving will be carried out between Old Catawba Road and approximately 5583 Bradshaw Road. This daytime work will involve flaggers to manage traffic through a two-mile-long section of the road that has been assessed to be in better condition and thus does not require nighttime paving.

Residents and travelers are advised to plan accordingly for potential delays and to exercise caution when driving through the construction zones.
