45-year-old woman, who was filmed in “action” physically assaulting six 2-year-old children entrusted in her care for months, pleaded guilty

Texas – In a deeply disturbing case in Texas that has horrified parents and shaken trust in child care providers, a 45-year-old woman, identified as C. Guziejka, has pleaded guilty to a staggering pattern of abuse involving multiple toddlers under her supervision. Guziejka admitted to six counts of injury to a child with the intent to cause bodily injury, a charge stemming from repeated assaults on children as young as two years old while employed at day care center in Texas.

Court documents confirm that Guziejka’s abuse spanned from July to October 2024, during which she was caught on surveillance cameras assaulting toddlers more than 100 times. She entered her guilty plea in court on Tuesday. Her attorneys are now requesting that she serve 10 years per count concurrently, meaning all sentences would run at the same time rather than one after the other. A sentencing hearing is set for November 12. The disturbing pattern of abuse came to light only after another day care employee began reviewing the facility’s security footage in late October 2024. According to a probable cause affidavit, the employee noticed Guziejka kicking a 2-year-old boy in the lower back while the child was lying on the floor. The worker notified the boy’s father, who quickly reported the incident to the sheriff’s office on October 23.

What investigators found on the tapes was far worse than a single incident. After carefully combing through hours of surveillance, they discovered that six different 2-year-olds had been physically assaulted on 134 separate occasions by Guziejka. The abuse followed a disturbing pattern. Many of the children were attacked while watching television. Guziejka would approach from behind and kick them in the lower back with her right foot, often without any provocation. But the abuse didn’t stop there. The footage also showed her standing on toddlers’ hands, aggressively dragging them from their sleep, and grabbing them by the arms to forcibly relocate them to changing tables. During diaper changes, she would physically force their heads down so they could not look at the television, instead making them stare at a wall—a tactic used repeatedly, according to officials.

M. Law, the then-owner of the day care center, reviewed the footage herself before alerting law enforcement. She confirmed to investigators that the abuse had been ongoing since July and that more than 100 incidents were visible on video. Guziejka had been employed at the day care since September 2023 and was terminated immediately after the abuse came to light. Law, who has since sold the day care, stated the facility will reopen in December under a new name and ownership. She turned over all video evidence to law enforcement, cooperating fully with the investigation.

While the emotional scars may run deep, Sheriff L. Smith told local news sources that, fortunately, none of the children suffered permanent physical injuries and that the situation could have been far worse. Still, the impact of Guziejka’s actions—committed in a place that was supposed to protect and nurture—has rattled families and community members alike. The footage, which captured the assaults in real time, is now the central piece of evidence in a case that exposed a dark reality behind closed doors. With her guilty plea now entered, Guziejka will return to court this November to learn her fate. As the justice system prepares to hand down a sentence, parents and advocates alike hope that the case serves as a wake-up call—and a step toward safer, more accountable child care environments.
