Man approached his ex-wife’s boyfriend from behind as he was holding a microphone in his hands, then pulled out a small gun and fatally shot him in the back of the head; arrested

Ohio – A tragic incident unfolded at a local bar in Ohio, where a man was fatally shot while singing karaoke. The suspect, who was identified as the ex-husband of the victim’s girlfriend, has been arrested in South Carolina following a nationwide manhunt.

According to the sheriff’s office, 42-year-old B. Hawk was shot and killed on the evening of July 11 at the bar. Deputies responded to the scene shortly before midnight, where they found Hawk suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Court documents reveal a chilling account of the attack. Hawk and his girlfriend were on the outdoor patio singing karaoke when the 59-year-old R. Lindgren approached Hawk from behind. Hawk was holding a microphone in his hands when Lindgren suddenly pulled out a small handgun and shot him in the back of the head.

Several bar patrons witnessed the shooting and immediately called 911 while chasing after Lindgren. One eyewitness described hearing a loud noise, initially mistaking it for a firecracker, before realizing it was gunfire. The bar’s owner, D. Williamson, who has run the bar for nearly 50 years, expressed shock and trauma over the incident, saying Hawk managed to get out “like three words” before he was shot. Williamson noted that such violence had never before occurred at the establishment. Following the shooting, Lindgren fled the scene and escaped in his vehicle. Law enforcement quickly issued a nationwide arrest warrant and a “be on the lookout” alert for Lindgren and his vehicle.

The suspect was eventually tracked down in South Carolina, about 550 miles away from the crime scene. State troopers, working alongside the sheriff’s office, pulled Lindgren over after spotting his car on traffic cameras. He was taken into custody without incident on July 12 and is currently being held in South Carolina pending extradition back to Ohio.

Lindgren is the ex-husband of Hawk’s girlfriend, which police believe points to a domestic dispute as the underlying motive. Neither Lindgren nor Hawk were regular patrons of the bar, suggesting the shooting was premeditated and personal. Lindgren has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting. He faces serious legal consequences, including potential life imprisonment if convicted.

This case is currently ongoing as authorities prepare to prosecute Lindgren. The community continues to mourn the loss of Hawk, a young man taken far too soon during what should have been a moment of joy and celebration. This tragic shooting at a local karaoke night underscores the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and violent acts, forever changing the lives of the victim’s family, friends, and the wider community.
