Roanoke County announces Presidents Day closures and service schedule changes for residents

Roanoke, Virginia – Residents in Roanoke County should prepare for schedule adjustments and service changes as county offices close in observance of Presidents Day on Monday, February 16.

County administrative offices will be closed for the holiday, and several services and facilities will operate on modified schedules throughout the week.

Trash collection and facility impacts

Roanoke County trash collection will operate on a one-day delay for all routes during the week of February 16 through February 20, 2026. Residents are encouraged to place their trash out on the adjusted schedule to avoid missed pickups.

Within Parks, Recreation and Tourism services, the administrative office will be closed, and the Brambleton Recreation Center will not open on Monday. However, Green Ridge Recreation Center will remain open that day for residents seeking recreational opportunities.

All Roanoke County Public Libraries locations will be closed on Monday. Transportation services will also be affected, as CORTRAN services will not operate during the holiday.

Additionally, the Roanoke County Circuit Court will be closed.

County officials encourage residents to plan ahead for the holiday schedule changes. Normal operations and services will resume following the Presidents Day observance.
