9-months-pregnant woman died after her biological mother and stepfather pushed her to the ground in a remote area and started stabbing her as they cut her baby from her womb; arrests

Michigan – In a deeply disturbing case in Michigan that has shocked the entire nation, authorities have arrested the 40-year-old biological mother, identified as Courtney B., and 47-year-old stepfather, identified as Bradly B., of a 22-year-old pregnant woman, identified as Rebecca P., accusing them of orchestrating a gruesome and premeditated murder. Rebecca, who was just days from giving birth, was lured into a remote area, pushed to the ground, and stabbed as her unborn child was violently cut from her womb. Neither the baby nor a motive has yet been found.

On December 2, Cortney and her husband, Bradly, were arraigned in court. Both now face a staggering list of charges—eight counts each—including first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder, torture, assault of a pregnant person causing stillbirth, conspiracy to commit those acts, unlawful imprisonment, and the unlawful removal of a body without a medical examiner’s permission.

The charges stem from a brutal attack prosecutors described as deliberate and methodical. According to Prosecutor J. Carey, Bradly brought Rebecca back to the house, forced her into a second vehicle, and drove her out to a remote area. There, they stabbed her and made her lie on the ground while they cut her unborn child from her body. The violence led to Rebecca’s death as well as the death of the baby. Both suspects will remain behind bars without bond. The court determined Bradly to be a fourth-time offender. Prosecutors emphasized the severity and horror of the crime, arguing for no release under any conditions.

Rebecca was last seen on November 3 near her home. That day, she had received a $2,000 inheritance and was seen getting into a car driven by her mother. Her disappearance triggered a widespread search and growing concern. Weeks later, on November 25, her body was discovered in a remote section of a wooded area. Volunteer searchers found her lifeless remains near a hiking trail, but the baby was missing. Authorities confirmed that her child had been cut from her womb. As of now, the baby’s body has still not been recovered.

An autopsy confirmed the identity of the remains, but the exact cause of death is still pending. Law enforcement believes Rebecca died from the injuries sustained during the brutal attack and illegal cesarean-like procedure performed in the forest. During the hearing, the prosecution stated clearly that this was not an impulsive act but one involving planning, online research, and deliberate execution.

The case took additional turns as Rebecca’s fiancé, 43-year-old R. Falor, and her sister, 21-year-old Kimberly P., were also arrested during the investigation. Falor faces two counts of delivering methamphetamine. Kimberly, meanwhile, is charged with tampering with evidence, lying to law enforcement during a violent crime investigation, and filing a false police report. Their involvement, while separate from the murder itself, further complicates an already tragic and disturbing picture. Both were labeled flight risks by the court, with bonds set at $1 million and $750,000, respectively.

Though Cortney was Rebecca’s biological mother, Rebecca and her siblings were raised by adoptive parents. Rebecca’s adoptive mother, Stephanie P., spoke publicly about the emotional toll, saying, “I’m heartbroken, crushed… We have been, as a family, preparing for this outcome. Not quite as gruesome as this outcome.” She added that Rebecca deserved to be remembered not for her tragic end, but for the kind and sweet child she once was. As of now, authorities continue to search for the missing baby’s body. The motive behind the brutal crime remains unclear, though the investigation is ongoing. The couple, Courtney and Bradly, is due back in court in the coming weeks, where prosecutors will push forward with a case already described as one of the most disturbing in recent memory.
