Missing woman died after the man she went on a “date” with at a resort refused to let her leave without providing the services he paid for and beat her to death; man charged

Florida – In a chilling case in Florida, a 33-year-old man, identified as D. Lamb, has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 43-year-old woman, identified as N. Tillman. According to reports, the defendant and the victim went on a “date” at a resort that ended with Lamb refusing to let Tillman leave without providing the services he allegedly paid for before brutally beating the woman and stuffing her body in a closet.

The incident came to light when the sheriff’s office was called to the resort following a missing persons report concerning Tillman. Deputies made a grim discovery in a hotel room, finding Tillman’s body concealed in a closet under a water heater. The initial investigation revealed she had been beaten to death. Lamb, who was already on probation for a previous grand theft auto conviction, was quickly linked to the crime. Investigations indicated that Lamb had arranged to meet Tillman at the resort through an online escort website. Tillman had communicated to a friend via text, saying she was heading to the resort for a “date.” After a short exchange, her final message read, “I’m in,” referring to her entering the room shortly before she went silent.

According to law enforcement, that was the last time someone heard from Tillman, and her concerned family members reported her missing. Her daughter managed to track her car to the resort, prompting the investigation that led to the shocking discovery of her body. Lamb had managed to stay under the radar until housekeeping noticed suspiciously heavy trash bags filled with soiled linens and towels heavily stained with blood, indicating a violent struggle had taken place. Unfortunately, the resort staff discarded the bags, and the dumpster has since been emptied, making the evidence unrecoverable.

Lamb was apprehended while at his job, following a tip-off from his parole officer, who had met him just the day before Tillman’s body was discovered. During interrogation, Lamb claimed an altercation erupted when Tillman attempted to leave without providing the “services” he paid for, leading to a fatal confrontation. Lamb alleged that after blocking her exit, a physical struggle ensued, resulting in Tillman hitting her head and losing consciousness.

However, the nature of Tillman’s injuries suggested a far more severe assault than Lamb’s account implied. She sustained significant facial injuries, including two black eyes and busted lips, inconsistent with a single blow as claimed by Lamb. In his panic, Lamb admitted to attempting to clean up the crime scene and concealing Tillman’s body and belongings before fleeing.  Lamb faces multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, and destruction of evidence, among others. He is currently held without bond in the county jail, with the community reeling from the brutality of the crime and the tragic loss of Tillman.

The case has highlighted critical issues regarding response to domestic violence and the safety protocols within public accommodations. It also raises significant concerns about the monitoring of individuals on parole and their activities. As the legal proceedings continue, the community and Tillman’s family await justice. The tragic event underscores the devastating impact of violence and the importance of vigilance and safety in interpersonal encounters.
