Chesterfield residents advised of detour routes as Burnette Drive is set for crossline pipe replacement

Chesterfield, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will temporarily close a section of Route 743 (Burnette Drive) in Chesterfield for a crossline pipe replacement project, weather permitting. The work is scheduled to take place at 9430 Burnette Drive on Wednesday, December 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Detours in Place

During the closure, VDOT has outlined detours to ensure the safe flow of traffic:

  • For Northbound Traffic: Travelers will take Route 743 (Burnette Drive) east to Route 604 (Courthouse Road) east, proceed to Route 651 (Belmont Road) north, continue to Route 649 (Newbys Bridge Road) south, and rejoin Route 743 (Burnette Drive).
  • For Southbound Traffic: Travelers will take Route 743 (Burnette Drive) west to Route 604 (Courthouse Road) west, proceed to Route 651 (Belmont Road) south, continue to Route 649 (Newbys Bridge Road) north, and rejoin Route 743 (Burnette Drive).

Property owners along Burnette Drive will maintain access to their homes throughout the duration of the project.
