Virginia Department of Transportation schedules temporary closure of Duval Road for pipe replacement project

Chesterfield, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced the temporary closure of a section of Route 668 (Duval Road) in Chesterfield County for crossline pipe replacement work. Weather permitting, the work will take place on Tuesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 4, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day.

Details of the Closure and Work Locations

On December 3, the project will focus on 17401 Duval Road, and on December 4, work will shift to 18900 Duval Road. The closure will affect the portion of Duval Road located between Route 667 (Otterdale Road) and Route 603 (Skinquarter Road). While the road will be closed during working hours, homeowners in the affected area will still have access to their properties.

Detour Routes for Motorists

VDOT has established detours for drivers traveling through the area:

  • Eastbound Traffic: Travel east on Duval Road, south on Route 667 (Otterdale Road), west on Route 360 (Hull Street), north on Route 603 (Skinquarter Road), and return to Duval Road.
  • Westbound Traffic: Travel west on Duval Road, south on Route 603 (Skinquarter Road), east on Route 360 (Hull Street), north on Route 667 (Otterdale Road), and return to Duval Road.
