Woman intentionally poured very hot soup on her 10-month-old son’s head before she brought him to the hospital in an emaciated and malnourished state with horrific injuries around his throat, face, and mouth areas; charged

Police reports show that a 27-year-old mother has been taken into custody and is facing serious charges following the incident where her 10-month-old son was hospitalized severely malnourished and in an emaciated state, suffering from horrific injuries around his face, throat, neck, and mouth areas after she intentionally poured very hot soup all over his head.

The 27-year-old woman, identified as Jasmine, was arrested several days ago and is now facing one count of aggravated child abuse for allegedly causing severe injuries to her infant son and failing to seek immediate medical attention. The name of the 10-month-old boy has not been publicly revealed.

Prosecutors indicate that Jasmine willfully tortured, abused, beat, or maltreated her little boy in another manner by not seeking immediate help from medical professionals after the child suffered severe injuries to the neck and face.

The incident came to light this week when Boykin brought her son to a local hospital for treatment. Once medical personnel approached the boy to provide treatment, they immediately suspected a foul play was in question since the boy not only had burns around his throat, face, and mouth areas, but he also appeared severely malnourished and emaciated and alerted law enforcement. Doctors informed investigators that the suspicious nature of the burns the 10-month-old had indicated the soup was intentionally poured on his face. There is no available information about a possible motive behind Jasmine’s actions or what Jasmine told authorities about the incident.

Following the treatment of the young victim, authorities arrested Jasmine and booked her into jail. She was subsequently released after posting a $60,000 bond.
