Child molester shot by mother of 12-year-old girl he tried to convince to run away with him after she saw the man on top of her daughter trying to indecently assault her; arrest warrant issued

Indiana – In a shocking incident that unfolded inside a motel room in Indiana, a mother shot a convicted child molester multiple times after walking in on him attempting to assault her 12-year-old daughter indecently, authorities said. The 39-year-old man, identified as B. Pierce, was critically injured in the shooting and now faces several felony charges, including attempted ra-e, attempted child molestation, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to police and court records, Pierce, who was previously convicted in 2016 on child molestation charges and served eight years in prison, is currently hospitalized. A warrant for his arrest remains active while he continues to recover under medical care. The incident occurred on May 24. According to court documents, Pierce had been in contact with the 12-year-old girl via online messages and phone calls, allegedly trying to convince her to run away with him.

On the day of the assault, the girl and her sister went to the motel to find their mother, who was there with Pierce. It is unclear how the mother and Pierce ended up at the motel, as well as the nature of her relationship with him. The mother, along with Pierce and the girls, entered a motel room. When the 12-year-old started feeling unwell, the mother and sister briefly left to take some bags to the car, leaving the girl alone with Pierce. That brief moment turned into a nightmare.

According to the victim, Pierce invited her to sit on the bed, then grabbed her arms, pinned them down, and began tearing at her clothes. He reportedly ripped her tank top and underwear, but she stated that he did not touch any other part of her body. Witnesses claimed Pierce had a gun on or near him at the time of the assault. At that critical moment, the mother returned to the room and saw Pierce on top of her daughter. Enraged and horrified, she shouted at him, then pulled out her firearm and opened fire, striking Pierce several times. The mother and daughter immediately fled the scene, along with other relatives waiting in the car, and they called 911.

Pierce was transported to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical condition as of May 24. Authorities have not released any updates on his current state. Despite his hospitalization, an arrest warrant was issued by authorities on the serious felony charges that he will face once he gets out of the hospital.  The 12-year-old girl was taken to a children’s hospital for medical evaluation. She also suffered minor injuries as she was allegedly hit by the suspect’s gun during the incident.
