14-year-old girl died after the 14- and 16-year-old boys she insulted and blocked on social media lured her into a remote area before shooting her to death and setting her body on fire; charges
Florida – In a grim and deeply unsettling case out of Florida, two teenage boys, identified as 16-year-old G. Williams and 14-year-old K. Blevins, stand accused of first-degree murder after luring a 14-year-old girl, identified as D. Troy, into a remote area, shooting her multiple times, and then setting her body on fire. The victim was found charred and lifeless in a remote stretch of woods. The suspects, Williams and Blevins, have both been arrested and charged.
Authorities have charged Williams and Blevins with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with Troy’s death. Investigators say the crime was not spontaneous or accidental — rather, it was carefully planned. Court documents and witness testimony suggest the two boys drew up the plan after feeling insulted by Troy on social media and upset that she had blocked one of them, Blevins. According to the charges, Williams allegedly stole his mother’s handgun to carry out the killing. Despite the youth of the suspects, law enforcement officials have urged that the severity of the crime warrants adult-level prosecution. For now, both boys remain in juvenile detention and are held without bond as the case proceeds.
The tragedy unfolded following a falling out between the teens over comments made online during Thanksgiving break. According to investigators, Troy had insulted Williams and blocked Blevins on social media, labeling Williams “worthless” and a “gang-banger.” That online exchange, the suspects would later admit, turned into a deadly grudge. On the night of the murder, Troy’s mother reported her missing early Monday morning, after not seeing her daughter return home from visiting friends the previous evening. The family believed she had run away. Then, two days later, a passerby spotted a burnt body in a remote wooded area. First responders and sheriff’s deputies were quickly dispatched.
When the body was recovered, it bore evidence of gunshot wounds and was badly burned. Nearby, investigators discovered live ammunition rounds and signs that a fire had been set intentionally. A damaged shoe and an abandoned electric scooter—items matching Troy’s—were also found, further linking the remains to her. An unnamed witness told police that Williams and Blevins had discussed their plan to kill Troy, admitting they were motivated by anger over social media insults. According to this witness, Blevins confessed they had intended to shoot her just once—but in the end, both boys allegedly took part in dragging her into the woods, shooting her repeatedly, and setting her body ablaze.
When detectives interviewed Blevins at his home, his mother reportedly told them he snuck in around 11 p.m. and claimed he was out “smoking a cigarette.” But she said she detected no smell of smoke — a detail that compounded investigators’ suspicions. Williams, when questioned, echoed the anger from the social media conflict, admitting that Troy’s words had upset him deeply. Despite assertions by the suspects that there was no real reason behind the violence, the evidence — from the weapon used to the charred remains, from digital proof to eyewitness accounts — painted a clear picture of a murder plot driven by retaliation and rage.
To help the victim’s family with funeral costs, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched, and a local church, Avalon Baptist Church, is organizing a candlelight vigil. In a message to the community, the church wrote: “Let’s come together to lift her memory, hold space for healing, and remind one another that love is stronger than violence.” As of now, witnesses remain on edge and the community mourns a life cut tragically short. With both suspects charged with first-degree murder, the case moves forward — but for Troy’s family and friends, nothing can undo what was done. A 14‑year-old girl, whose only “crime” was to stand up for herself online, is gone — and two boys will soon face justice for that irreversible choice.
