23-year-old man snuck into his ex-girlfriend’s home to surprise her with flowers only to end up shooting his ex’s new partner with whom she returned home; arrested

Texas – In a disturbing case of obsession that turned deadly in Texas, a 23-year-old man, identified as S. Wilson, who claimed he only wanted to surprise his former girlfriend with flowers, now faces serious charges after fatally shooting her new partner in the middle of the night. Wilson was arrested and charged with murder, a felony, after lying in wait inside his ex-girlfriend’s home and gunning down her new boyfriend, 35-year-old N. Miller. Wilson remains in the county jail on a $300,000 bond.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, at a home. Wilson reportedly snuck into the residence late Saturday night, entering through an unlocked door, and hid inside a closet in the daughter’s bedroom, according to the arrest affidavit. He brought with him a bizarre mix of items—flowers, money, and cocaine—with the stated intention of “surprising” his former girlfriend. But what began as an uninvited romantic gesture quickly turned into a deadly confrontation.

Around 2 a.m., the woman returned home with her new boyfriend, Miller. As she went upstairs to shower, several gunshots rang out from inside the house. According to her statement to officers, she emerged from the bathroom to find Wilson standing in the doorway with a weapon. Miller was found upstairs, lying on a bed with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Before fleeing the scene, Wilson allegedly took his ex-girlfriend’s phone and told her, “Don’t call on me,” according to the affidavit. He then fled on foot.

Wilson was located later that morning at a friend’s house about a mile from the crime scene. During questioning, he admitted to shooting Miller but claimed self-defense, alleging that the victim had pointed a gun at him first. No weapon belonging to Miller was found at the scene. Investigators searching the house discovered multiple shell casings and bullet damage throughout the room. However, they were unable to locate the firearm used in the shooting. Wilson claimed he had discarded the gun, along with the flowers and other items, as he fled. The woman’s account made no mention of any threat posed by Miller and painted a very different picture—one of a planned ambush.

Documents revealed that Wilson had been drinking inside the house while waiting. What began as a late-night intrusion with romantic overtones ended in a violent act that police say was unprovoked and calculated. The murder has shaken the local community and raised serious questions about stalking, obsession, and domestic violence. What appears on the surface as a “surprise visit” was, according to police, a deliberate act that turned deadly the moment Wilson saw his ex with someone new.

As of now, Wilson is being held in jail, and no trial date has been announced. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities still searching for the missing firearm and any further evidence that could shed light on the moments leading up to the fatal shooting. A night that began with flowers ended in gunfire—and now, one man is dead, and another faces the full weight of the law.
