VDOT to temporarily close westbound lanes of Dundas Road for bridge work in Chesterfield

Chesterfield, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a temporary closure of the westbound lanes of Route 641 (Dundas Road) in Chesterfield as part of a scheduled bridge replacement project. Weather permitting, the closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, and will remain in effect until 6 a.m. on Monday, October 6.

The closure will affect westbound traffic between Meadowdale Boulevard and Strathmore Road. During this period, eastbound traffic will continue to follow the existing detour, which directs vehicles to Route 150 (Chippenham Parkway) via Meadowdale Boulevard.

For those traveling westbound, drivers are instructed to follow the posted detour: continue on Strathmore Road, then take Chippenham Parkway and return to Meadowdale Boulevard.

VDOT encourages anyone with questions about the project to contact the VDOT Customer Service Center at 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623). Motorists can also check for updates and traffic information through 511 Virginia at 511.vdot.virginia.gov or by downloading the free 511 Virginia mobile app.
