Roanoke County Public Library to host annual fall book sale offering thousands of discounted books for all ages
Roanoke, Virginia – The Friends of the Roanoke County Public Library are preparing to host their highly anticipated semi-annual Fall Book Sale at South County Library in Roanoke. The event will run from Saturday, October 4 through Thursday, October 9, during the library’s regular business hours. Book lovers across the area can browse thousands of fiction and nonfiction books, children’s titles, DVDs, audiobooks, and videos—all available at incredibly low prices.
Sale hours are set for Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., giving ample time for visitors to explore the wide selection of materials.
A special Preview Night will take place on Friday, October 3, at 6:00 p.m., exclusively for members of the Friends of the Library. Attendees will enjoy a short business meeting before the sale doors officially open. New members are welcome to join either in advance or at the door. An annual membership costs $15 for individuals and $20 for families.
Special Sale Days and Volunteer Opportunities
To make the event even more exciting, Wednesday will be Half Price Day, when all items are sold at 50% off. Then on Thursday, the final day of the sale, visitors are encouraged to bring their own boxes for Box Day—a popular event where people can fill a box with books and make a donation of their choosing.
“The Friends Book Sale is the Library’s main fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Roanoke County Public Library,” organizers confirmed.
The Friends of the Roanoke County Public Library is a nonprofit, membership-based group committed to supporting and enhancing the county’s library system. In addition to organizing the biannual book sales, the Friends fund library programs, services, and facility improvements throughout the year.
