Broadview Avenue work zone set to impact traffic for 45 Days starting next week
Warrenton, Virginia – Starting Monday, March 31, drivers traveling along southbound U.S. 17 Business (Broadview Avenue) in the Town of Warrenton will experience a lane closure that is expected to last for approximately 45 days. The right lane between Gold Cup Drive and Roebling Street will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while construction crews work on replacing curbs and sidewalks.
This effort is part of the Broadview Avenue improvement project, a broader plan aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety in this busy corridor. According to officials, the lane will remain closed overnight as well, due to safety restrictions that require a buffer between construction equipment and passing traffic.
Although the roadwork will cause some delays, access to nearby businesses will not be restricted, and motorists are urged to stay attentive and use extra care when driving through the work zone.
The Broadview Avenue project, funded through Virginia’s SMART Scale program, is focused on improving traffic conditions and pedestrian infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026.
