Roanoke and Vinton to host National Night Out events for community bonding

Roanoke, Virginia – Two National Night Out events are scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, beginning at 6 p.m. These events offer a chance for community members to engage with law enforcement and their neighbors in a positive and fun environment.

Event 1: Old Mountain Neighborhood Watch Group

Location: Hollins Road Baptist Church, 3502 Old Mountain Road NE, Roanoke

Hosted by the Old Mountain Neighborhood Watch Group, this event is open to residents of both Roanoke County and the City who live off of Old Mountain Road. Attendees can look forward to food and a giveaway of school supplies, making it a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year while fostering community spirit.

Event 2: Town of Vinton

Location: Vinton War Memorial, 814 E Washington Ave.

The Town of Vinton is hosting its annual National Night Out event at the Vinton War Memorial. This event promises a lively evening with food, music, games, and various other activities, providing a wonderful occasion for families and individuals to connect with local law enforcement and each other.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The goal is to create safer, more caring neighborhoods and to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
