Daughter heard her father saying “I’m going to kill them all” before he entered his family’s home and shot his brother and parents only because they kicked him out previously

Arizona – In a shocking case in Arizona, 37-year-old B. Lujan has been handed three life sentences, ensuring he will spend the remainder of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. This sentence comes after Lujan was found guilty of the first-degree murders of his own family members—his parents and brother.

The tragic incident unfolded on the afternoon of August 8, 2021, when authorities were called to the Lujan family home following reports of injured individuals. Upon receiving no response at the door, officers were compelled to force entry into the residence. Inside, they discovered a grim scene: three deceased individuals, identified as 56-year-old I. Lujan, 63-year-old L. Lujan, and 30-year-old M. Lujan, with apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. It was estimated that the victims had been dead for approximately three hours prior to the discovery.

Investigations quickly led to Lujan, who had already confessed to the killings at a local hospital. According to police reports, the violence erupted shortly after Lujan and his wife, R. Loest, were kicked out of the family home. Lujan sought to discuss their eviction, but an argument with his brother escalated into a physical altercation. It was during this confrontation that Lujan fatally shot his brother before turning the gun on his parents, entering their home to continue his violent spree.

Prosecutors described the chilling sequence of events in court, noting that Lujan’s assault was so relentless that he had to pause to reload his weapon before continuing to fire at his parents. This act of unfathomable brutality was not only witnessed but also premeditated, as evidenced by statements he made to his young daughters, who were waiting in his car. One of the daughters reported hearing her father say, “I’m going to kill them all,” before they stopped at their grandparents’ home, followed by the sounds of gunshots and screams emanating from the house.

Loest, Lujan’s wife, who acted as the getaway driver on that fateful day, was also held accountable for her role in the events. She was convicted and sentenced to three years in prison. During the sentencing hearing, the profound impact of the crime on the Lujan family was voiced by relatives, with one family member expressing that the loss had left “a hole in our lives that will never be filled.” County Attorney R. Mitchell commented on the case, underscoring the severity of Lujan’s actions: “To murder your family in such a deliberate, callous manner and express no remorse shows a remarkable lack of humanity.”
