Virginia Department of Transportation to close Route 608 north of Fisherville for pipe replacement

Staunton, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has announced a road closure for Route 608 (Long Meadow Road) in Augusta County. This closure is necessary to perform cross pipe replacement at several locations north of Fishersville.

Route 608 Closure Details

Starting Monday, July 22, Route 608 will be closed between Route 796 (Kiddesville Road) and Route 795 (Entry School Road) on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This work is scheduled to continue through Friday, July 26. The road will remain open outside of these hours, but motorists should plan accordingly to avoid delays.

VDOT has set up a detour to help manage traffic during the closure. Northbound traffic on Route 608 will be redirected to turn right onto Route 796, then left onto Route 795, before returning to Route 608. Southbound traffic will follow this detour in reverse order. Drivers are urged to follow the detour signs and drive with caution in the area.

The pipe replacement work is weather dependent. VDOT advises motorists to stay informed about possible changes to the schedule due to weather conditions.
