Over $13 million in grants available for Virginia land conservation projects
Richmond, Virginia – Last month, the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation (VLCF) board of trustees convened to launch the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) grant round, dedicating significant funds toward land conservation projects across the state. This initiative aims to support efforts in preserving farmland, forestland, historic areas, natural areas, and open spaces.
Funding Details and Application Process
The VLCF has allocated a total of $13,549,172 for grants in the upcoming fiscal year, distributed across five key conservation categories. These categories are:
- Farmland Preservation: $2,604,182
- Forestland Preservation: $2,604,182
- Historic Area Preservation: $2,849,430
- Natural Area Preservation: $2,799,696
- Open Spaces and Parks: $2,691,682
Interested parties are encouraged to submit their applications for these grants by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
