33-year-old man arrested for last week’s Roanoke shooting 

Roanoke, Virginia – An individual has been taken into custody following a shooting incident in Roanoke.

The person in question, Jaliyl Clinton, aged 33, is facing charges connected to a shooting incident that occurred last week, on Friday.

As per our earlier coverage, emergency units from the Roanoke Police Department and Roanoke Fire-EMS were dispatched to the 1800 block of Downing St. NW. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Upon a comprehensive examination of the incident, officers ascertained that the shooting event occurred within the confines of a Shell convenience store’s parking area, located on the 1900 block of 10th St NW. According to official papers, as procured by 10 News, it is alleged that Clinton discharged a firearm at a vehicle, causing injury to a man situated outside the convenience store.

Authorities have stated that the individual was shot several times and that at the time, it appeared the injuries were not life-threatening.

Subsequently, Clinton was taken into custody on the same day at the Embassy Inn, where investigators discovered a revolver hidden in the room’s freezer, as noted in court records.

Clinton is currently being held without bond, facing charges that include malicious wounding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
