Virginia Beach now has a new music festival hitting the sand this summer – ‘Beach It!’
VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia — After losing Patriotic Fest to Norfolk and then losing and getting back Something in the Water, Virginia Beach now has a new music festival happening on the beach this summer.
From June 23 to 25, country music artists from all over the country will perform at “Beach It!”
The festival was planned to happen on the summer solstice to mark the start of the season. It took more than a year to get all the details ready.
The lineup was released by city and festival officials on Wednesday.
The main headliners for the first festival will be Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, and Thomas Rhett.
Riley Green, Jo Dee Messina, Kip Moore, Megan Moroney, Brothers Osborne, Jameson Rodgers, Dee Jay Silver, Nate Smith, Alana Springsteen, Cole Swindell, Lily Rose, and Hailey Whitters will also perform on the main stage.
The city agreed to give Country Nation, a branch of Live Nation, $1.5 million.
Alana Springsteen, a country music singer from Virginia Beach who will be performing, said, “This is where I learned to dream.” “I hope that the amazing artists who will be here in June will make dreams come true.”
At the Oceanfront, the festival will go from 1st Street to 8th Street. If it goes well, city officials want it to happen every year.
Locals and people in the military will get first dibs on festival passes, which will go on sale February 18 at 10 a.m. at the Virginia Beach Veterans United Amphitheater.
Other tickets for pre-sale will be on their website on February 20 at 10 a.m.
The people in charge of the festival say that both General Admission tickets and VIP tickets are available. Hotel deals for tourists are also being worked on right now.
The business owners along the Oceanfront are getting ready for a busy summer and a lot of new customers.
Eric Emerson, who runs Waterman’s Surfside Grille, Chix on the Beach, and The Shack, said, “This is really going to help with all-day business and bring people to the beach who might not always come.”
This spring and summer, Virginia Beach will be full of people. In April, the Something in the Water Festival starts, and in June, the new Jackalope Festival for action sports begins.
Something in the Water hasn’t said who will be there yet.
