Roanoke residents should expect warmer and sunny days this week, Roanoke weather forecast

ROANOKE, Virginia – On Super Bowl Sunday, there was rain, sleet, freezing rain, and snow in our area.

Some roads may still be slippery in places where it snowed late Sunday. Monday morning, watch out for that as you go about your day.

But as the day goes on, the sun and temperatures that are well above freezing will help us out. Monday and Valentine’s Day will have highs in the 50s and 60s.

We’ll get even warmer, with highs in the 60s and maybe even the lower 70s on Wednesday afternoon. More spring fever!

This heat is getting stronger before a storm system that will bring bad weather to the Southern Plains, Great Lakes, and everywhere in between on Wednesday and Thursday.

We might get a few showers Thursday during the day, but most of the rain is likely to fall Thursday night and Friday. This could get heavy at times, but it doesn’t look like we’re in danger of damage or severe weather.

Highs on Friday will be in the 50s in the early morning, but then they will drop into the 30s and 40s for the rest of the day.

There will be some wind on Friday, but the weekend looks good. Every day will be sunny, and the highs will be in the 50s Saturday and in the 60s Sunday.
